> BODY DAMAGE AND BROKEN LIMBS <
When in combat, players can specify where they strike with a technique, weapon, or outright basic attack. If such a blow isn't dodged, guarding or simply taking the hit will risk breaking the specified location! If an attack's power level is over 80% of the receiving end's power level, then the limb or appendage will shatter... or at least fracture. If the attacker chooses to attempt to dismember the limb they specify, then they must land their attack with over 120% of the attacked character's power level. Any less will only break the limb.
Dismembering limbs can only be done with sharp weapons or techniques that are designed to cut or tear (Slashing, Piercing, and Explosive [EX]). Explosive [EX] techniques can only dismember limbs at 150% of the victim's power level. Breaking limbs can be done by any technique, however.
For those wishing to literally bash skulls: if you so chose to fracture an opponent's skull, you must strike your target with over 300% of their power level! If successful, it results in a K.O. one post after impact!
Characters with broken limbs will suffer an initial 3% basic attack penalty. Two broken limbs reduces basic attack damage by another 1%. Three broken limbs will only allow players to do damage from techniques, as basic attacks then do 0% damage.
Recovering from broken limbs is relatively simple: either consume a Sensu Bean, or receive healing via the [SP] Healing technique. If you consume a Sensu Bean, one limb will be recovered per bean. If you are healed by the technique, the healer must recover 10% of the healed individual's base HP (separately from their current HP) to restore the limb.
