"We're still not sure what that secondary body in the sky is sir, it seems almost intangible when we sent probes to attempt to land on it, but the luminosity is almost identical to the Moon's.", a voice would echo over the site intercom. An older man weathered in his years furrowed his brow at this. The foreign body satellite had shown up a week prior and even the Green Glove's greatest minds didn't have the slightest clue what it was. He rose to his feet and paced towards the window, overlooking the city from his tower. The pristine white snow blanketed even the cleanest buildings, reflecting the light in all directions almost blindingly. He would sip from a thermos he kept in his lab coat, typically meant for coffee he kept a cold brew in there as he knew something... somewhere was going to go wrong. As it always did.
"ALERT LEVEL OMEGA! I REPEAT ALERT LEVEL OMEGA. THREE METAL BALLS ARE IN PATH TO IMPACT WITH THE PLANET!"
Almost as if on cue the automated deep-space surveillance network flared up, the so-called comets they had been tracking had passed within range and spectral analysis revealed them to be of... a non-terrestrial metal? This worried the doctor more than the satellite itself, what was going on anymore?
It took only a moment for the pod to strike the planet, sirens blaring as a blinding light erupted from the centre market in North City. Whole buildings were consumed and the ground evaporated into nothing but singed soil for almost a quarter-mile on impact. The sound of pressurized gas shot out from the door of the pod, opening slowly to reveal a padded interior. Stepping from the transport vessel was a woman, her jagged hair rolling down the length of her back. She slim, but with a slight bulk to her, the build of a well-trained athlete in some regards. She was clad in pale red armour that looked as if it had seen better days, some parts faded to the bare metal and lacking tint entirely.
"Commander, I am at the drop zone, I will wait for Cabbara and rendezvous at the designated location out west.", she spoke, lifting her hand to a device on her face. A frown covered her brow as she looked around at the civilian populace around her. Lifting a hand, one finger extended she lowered her gaze to a child with a malicious grin. Bright orange light consumed the area and heat radiated. As all could be seen again the child was left on the ground, his entire right leg vaporized cleanly off. The pain had consumed him in the instant, knocking him unconscious.
"THIS IS AM EMERGENCY WARNING. PODS HAVE LANDED IN THREE LOCATIONS ON EARTH! All residents of East, West, and North City are recommended to evacuate to the nearest doomsday shelter immediately."
