> SITE RULES <
Basic respect. This is an extremely important rule, and as such we're putting it first. Everyone on site deserves respect and decency from any other players. We want to minimize any conflicts to an absolute minimum. Should arguments arise in any of our chats, try to diffuse the situation. Do not berate one another or resort to name-calling. If your argument is about something on-site, such as mechanics, rules, etc. Inform a mod and they will have the final say, or bring the problem to the mod team for confirmation. For the best, try to not start or continue any fights OOC, and overall just deal with any problems as civilly as possible.
Staff Decisions are final. This is also important, but should be common knowledge. When some dispute happens over an on-site mechanic, rule, etc and people begin to argue, a mod is brought in to deal with the situation by making a mod ruling. If this mod happens to have given a mod ruling that does not appeal to you, do NOT continue to argue or fight with the mod on the subject. Once that mod has said something, it is final. Almost all of the decisions made by the mod team will be consulted between all of the mods, and as such, are the voice of the entire team. If one mod makes a mistake, it will be corrected, but respect the staff's ability to make final decisions.
PG-13 Content is what we want on the site. We're not an R-Rated site and wish for all interaction on the site to PG-13. If you wish to have something R-Rated happen to your character? Fade to black or take it off site and out of the site Discord. We will be extremely diligent to keep R-Rated material off of the site, as Proboards themselves are extremely trigger happy about pornographic material.
This should be obvious, but do not harass, insult, or be racist/sexist to others on-site or in our chats. This should be under Rule #1 but deserves its own spot due to it's importance. This mostly happens due to political or economic debates, so please look over Rule #5 for guidance on how to solve this issue in the best way possible.
Do not have extreme political or controversial debates on-site or in our chats OOC. We do not want to see a wall of text fight between two people arguing over the importance of Whig Vegans wearing paint clothing, we want to see people happy, roleplaying, and enjoying the site as a whole. If you REALLY want to argue that badly, go off-site and off of our chats and do it in a private setting.
Rule Loopholes. They happen. It's a total normal aspect of new and growing sites. However, people tend to like to use these loopholes to their advantage, and so we tend to not like when this happens. We request that should you find a loophole, post about it in the general chat and tag a mod to get our attention, or PM it to one of the mod teams on-site or through discord.
Plagiarism is a very real, very dangerous topic to have on the site. As such, we will be having an extremely strict Plagiarism rule in place. Do not copy-paste anything from any other site, or any character/player on-site or off-site. This does happen extremely often in the community and we ask that if you notice any Plagiarism happening, PM a mod immediately. We will deal with it as fast and as soon as physically possible.
The Language rule is always the hardest one to truly enforce due to people's condition, but we do still request that everyone speak mostly English on the board at all times. We permit small uses of foreign languages, as some of our mods aren't only English speakers, however we request that the majority of all encounters and discussions on-site or on our chat are in English. The main reason is simply so we as mods can tell what is going on, and so we can avoid being forced to dig through google translate to see what an argument has devolved into.
Characters and NPCs. A big topic to mention. There also happens to be many layers to this rule. We allow you to have up to three characters at a time should you wish, however they must have separate accounts on the board for their respective character sheet. We do NOT allow you to play canon characters on the board, as almost all of them are either dead, or do not exist in our site's lore. We expect you to keep your knowledge between characters and not spending that knowledge randomly between them. If your Saiyan learns from the Sadalan Military that someone is attacking the planet, your Tuffle halfway across the universe WOULD NOT know of that, and so if you were to go to Sadal due to this, it would be an example of the next rule.
Meta/Power-Gaming. The bane of every RP sites existence, and what we need to put strong emphases on when we say we do not allow it. Meta-Gaming and Power-Gaming may be difficult to spot, but some wonderful examples for those at home may include: Only doing solos on site to boost your Power Level up past an opponent. Only RPing with people you could kill if you fought, and refusing to RP with anyone who may be equal to you in power or higher. Finding out any grading systems or loopholes and abusing them to get the most Zeni and Power Level gains you can before it is patched. Etc. Etc. Just don't do it. Be generally nice and RPing will be fun. That's all that needs to be said.
Combat RP. I know, we're on a Dragon Ball Z site, and Dragon Ball is notorious for being an action fighting anime, but we do wish to put actual emphases on the RP aspect as well. You don't have to fight every joe you see on the street. Hell, we encourage you don't. If you are kicking less ass, you're tending to learn more about the world, other people's characters, and even better, clues and hints towards new Sagas or Events that may happen in the future. The only way to learn these things is through being a general good guy per say, and not killing every single person you see. Even an evil person would still communicate with the enemy, as communication is the best kind of advantage. Which one gets you more in the end, killing your opponent, or learning from your opponent about the Dragon Balls, THEN killing them? It should be quite obvious which is the superior option.
Please read over our site lore and what history has already happened before creating your application for your character. We are not in the same universe as Goku and Vegeta and everyone you're probably used to, and so you may want to see what we have already done or what our lore and pre-history include. You may find some inspiration for your character!
Please make sure that your character sheet and profile name match. Your profile IS your character's profile and thus we wish to keep it nice and tidy. Your stats are added to the profile the sheet is posted under and thus we wish you make your new account before you post the new sheet. We will make exceptions ONLY if a mistake occurs.
The mods reserve the right to deny something you may be planning or have posted should it not coincide with Dragon Ball Z lore or our on-site lore. Please be respectful and if you disagree, PM a mod and discuss it with us.
This is an extremely important rule and it is being put here so you can see clearly what it is. DO NOT ASK FOR MOD OR ADMIN HELP IN A CHAT UNLESS ALLOWED. We constantly are on the site 24/7 looking over things both OOC and IC for the players. Character approvals, thread grades, everything. We rarely have hiatuses and if we do we specifically tell the playerbase beforehand. Casual mentions of needing something done is fine, but if you seriously need grades, follow these steps:
Account Hopping/Editing. This applies more towards any chats we may have on the site or may be affiliated with than on-site accounts, it applies there as well. While you may have your chat account name as an OOC name or alias you go by that you wish your characters to be linked to, we would hope you keep to one name and do not repeatedly change your name or handle. It can cause serious confusion to those who are unfamiliar with you and do not know who plays who because the few people who wish to RP with your character will not have a set chat name to look for. This applies to characters as well in a sense, as people sometimes like to give their character multiple nicknames, but do not cycle through five hundred different nicknames hoping to potentially confuse people, on purpose or accidentally.
